FHH at “Day at Hanaiakamalama”

Queen Emma Summer Palace Hosted by Daughters of Hawai`i – an opportunity for community awareness and cultural exchange. It was an eventful day once we survived the morning Nu`uanu “paka ua nui” downpour of rain. DOH members, teachers, students, keiki, tourists, and vendors bought shirts, grabbed education material, contributed to our donation jar, and engaged in our keiki canoe building activity. Some of them knew about FHH but many of them didn’t. By gaining that knowledge, people were interested in having FHH do a presentation for their events and organizations. The Donation Jar was a first-time effort to raise cash contributions and to my surprise, generated a generous amount. Mahalo nui!to my devoted volunteers Cindy, Marylou, and Joy with a special Mahalo! to Greg/Debra Chun, who experienced their first volunteer project as FHH lifetime members…
