On December 24, 2023, FHH loaded the waa Hoaloha onto the trailer Pier 20 to unload it at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort (ORWBR.) The wa’a Kalele was removed from the premises and loaded on the trailer to the new The Honolulu Kupuna Shed on Lana Lane, Kaakako where it will be repaired. Mahalo to Keith Kaleo and brother Glen Perry of the Keahiakahoe Canoe club to furnish the trailer and drive it for us. Laulima – Many Hands this done.

I know it will take many hands to make this happen smoothly as well as safely and I appreciate you. On our side, we will secure the parking area up against the wall in the driveway for the trailer. In the porter cochere, up against the waterfall we will have it cleared for the Hoaloha to be placed until the Kalele is moved to the trailer.”

Restoration work on Hoaloha took two years to restore.
